Maya Fiennes’ Monday Plan

Monday

Theme: Letting go of fear and doubt

We can be very scared of change and the first chakra is all about change, about losing our rigidity and learning to be more flexible.  Fear is something we all have.  It is part of being alive, and of knowing that some day all of us will die. We are never going to lose fear completely, so we need to learn how to best deal with it.  We need to be able to acknowledge it, accept it, recognise it, admit it – and then let it go.

“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear – not absence of fear.”

Mark Twain (1835-1910)

Moving Crow Pose

This position is very strengthening, both physically and mentally.  It stimulates your Kundalini energy and shifts untapped pools of energy up through your spine. It grounds you to that place of total self-acceptance and letting go.

Sit in a crow pose, squatting with feet apart. Extend your arms in front of you and clasp your hands with the index fingers pointing straight ahead.  Inhale through the nose, as you rise up into a standing position and arms parallel to the ground.  Exhale through the nose and come back down into a squat.  When you inhale, rising up, mentally recite mantra” SAT” and when you exhale, mentally recite ‘NAM’, meaning Truth is my name.  Keep your eyes one-tenth open.  Repeat this for 7-26 times.

Do not do this if you are pregnant or on the first three days of your period.

The Connector Juice

This drink will cleanse your liver, kidneys and bowels, and will help you reconnect in harmony with Mother Earth.

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 stick of celery
  • fresh root ginger, to taste
  • garlic, to taste

Peel the carrots, beetroot, lemon and cucumber. Remove the stalk and seeds from the red pepper. Add ginger and garlic to taste, and put everything through a juicer.  Stir and enjoy with passion!
